West Coast Book tour...Winter 2014-15

With the release of "Cannabis vs. Climate Change" comes the responsibility of giving people the opportunity to present questions and concerns, consider further developments and initiate accelerated progress toward global understanding, revaluation and consensus. If Cannabis is truly essential, as posited in this book, then people everywhere deserve to know, and to understand why that's true.

If invited to present, either in person or via Skype I can offer a PowerPoint, video, and/or slide lecture that will attempt to address the way forward for a peaceful, healthful future.

This Sunday, November 16th, 2014, from 12 to 2 pm (PST) I will be hosting a Blogtalk Radio program, live from Weed, California. People everywhere are encouraged to phone in and participate in the necessary discourse for achieving a polar, pivotal shift in values.

"Cannabis vs Climate Change" ~ How hot dos Earth have to get...?
https://vimeo.com/48561561

Atmospheric aerosols produced by boreal forests and phytoplankton, shield our planet from solar UV-B radiation. Since 1950, half of the forests have been cut down, and about half of the phytoplankton are gone, leaving the Earth vulnerable to increasing levels of solar UV-B radiation. Cannabis is the only crop capable of replacing the same atmospheric aerosols, in sufficient quantities to resolve climate change in the very limited time that we may have left to heal the planet.

The polar shift in values from "illegal" to "essential civilian demand"

The polar shift in values from "illegal" to essential is a time-limited opportunity to avert global systemic collapse. In Hawai'i, after being slandered as a "danger to his community" that cost him four years and three months in prison without trail or bail, Reverend Roger Christie has emerged stronger than ever in faith and spirit.
In this video, the Hawai'i community welcomes Roger Christie (out of the "halfway house" he's still confined to most of the time) to rejoin the Islands' Cannabis conversation. This proves beyond any possible doubt that Roger is a valued visionary leader -- ZERO a "danger" to his community. After years of wrongful imprisonment and selective persecution, Roger Christie introduces the U.S. federal protocol, "essential civilian demand" that is urgently necessary for affording immediate access to the "strategic resource" "hemp."
"Hemp" is valued as being "strategic" in seven Presidential Executive Orders, signed by seven American Presidents (FDR,Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Nixon, Clinton, and Barack Obama). It is not possible for a startegic resource to be a "Schedule One drug" since one is critical to national security and the other has no use whatsoever.
Executive Order 13603 (signed March 16, 2012) is presently in force, affording immediate access to Cannabis in the interest of national security and global integrity. An emergency preparedness protocol referred to in several federal documents, (CFR 44, EO 12919, EO 13603, Defense Production Act of 1950) essential civilian demand does not ask permission -- "demand" recognizes urgent necessity.
The magnitude and immediacy of rapidly compounding global threats obviates government taxation and bureaucratic regulation. Interference in our freedom to farm "every herb bearing seed" is a violation of the First Amendment, that would delay the timely implementation of (organic and biodynamic, non-GMO) solutions, for maximum carbon sequestration and biogenic atmospheric monoterpene production.

Ancient wisdom of Cannabis goodness is to be respected as part of our sacred legacy...

From the Good Samaritan

"IT IS A REMEDY THAT OUGHT TO BE IN Every House, on account of its Harmlessness and Potency, and, above all, BECAUSE OF ITS EXCEEDING CHEAPNESS."

"We do not here tell you of the REALMS of MYSTERY, WONDER, and SUBLIME ENCHANTMENT -- when amounting almost to the Gift of Prophecy -- that is superinduced by using THIS MAGNIFICENT ORIENTAL PREPARATION, so long celebrated in Song, Poetry and ANCIENT STORY."

-- Gotta love THAT! Thanks to Mr. Chris Bennett. This is priceless...

"Global Extinction within one Human Lifetime as a Result of a Spreading Atmospheric Arctic Methane Heat wave and Surface Firestorm"

Cannabis agriculture is more than merely "legal" -- it has become essential for averting sudden, irreversible, systemic collapse. Cannabis is the only plant that can produce the quantity of atmospheric aerosols needed to reflect solar UV-B radiation away from the planet, in the time we may have left to heal this planet. 'Time' is the limiting factor in the equation of survival.

Dear friends,

Thank you for the opportunity to suggest an idea, to simultaneously address these fundamentally important objectives. In properly nourishing the young, empowering women in all phases of their lives, and teaching the next generation how to farm & garden, everyone's future is decided.
I have been privileged to help build a wheel-chair accessible demonstration project working with Farms and Gardens for the Disabled in northern California. Raising the soil three feet (one meter) up off of ground level initiates a dynamic that performs many functions, beyond increasing food supply and enhancing nutrition.
Making gardening possible for people who are physically limited (i.e. by pregnancy, advanced age, disability) or otherwise unable to reach ground-level soils, also facilitates the exchange of a critical legacy of spiritual connection to the Earth, passion for the miracles to be found in a garden, and the exchange of knowledge that is possible between the generations -- all, simply by providing accesss to the soil.
On a purely practical level, the community workforce can be expanded, production increased, resource diversity and efficiency maximized.
Please feel invited to visit the project on-line, and make contact, for any ideas that may be inspired by the innovation and determination of Mr. and Mrs. Loskot's organic, accessible farm.

The Future of Family Farming: Providing Resources for Women and Young Farmers
http://www.fao.org/fsnforum/forum/discussions/FF2#comments

"Food Tank is excited to be collaborating with the U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization for the International Year of Family Farming (IYFF). Through this discussion we hope to promote greater dialogue around family farming issues. We are interested in opening up a broader debate on impactful policies for rural communities and the need for investing in technologies and innovations that help agriculture become economically profitable, intellectually stimulating, and environmentally sustainable for young and female farmers.

"The future of agriculture is in the hands of young people and women. But around the globe the average age of farmers is swelling as young people leave rural areas in search of a better life. Meanwhile, most often deep-rooted inequalities prevent female farmers from gaining equal rights to access land,  inputs,  and economic resources that will allow them to reach economic autonomy and farm more productively.
"To address the root causes of these asymmetries, governments and learning institutions need to design and implement targeted affirmative policies for women and youth, that may secure their access and use of natural resources,  as well as provide practical training, and teach marketing and entrepreneurial skills. Not only, but at the same time they too need to learn from family farmers traditional knowledge and practices. Reform and decentralize knowledge and learning institutes, including research and extension programmes, aiming to create spaces for farmer led innovation, co-creation of knowledge between farmers and scientists also is essential."

United Nations Food Security & Nutrition Forum: Selection and Prioritization of CFS Activities for the Biennium 2016-2017

Dear Mr. Fratini and FSN forum participants,
Thank you for your objective consideration of my suggestions in response to your questions.

1. What issues should be addressed by the Committee in the biennium 2016-2017?
The nutritional value of Cannabis hemp must be addressed, at the same time hemp's unique and essential climate mitigation potential is considered.

Explain the issue and describe why you are proposing it;

It should be noted that the nutritional value of Cannabis sativa ("hemp") is recognized as "strategic" in Executive Order 13603, signed by President Obama on March 16, 2012. It is the latest in a collection of seven Executive Orders signed by seven American presidents, that identify "hemp" as a "strategic food resource."
The complete nutrition offered by Cannabis hemp is the first reason to focus on this under-regarded organic crop, but there are several more reasons to take an honest look at the potential for a global campaign emphasizing Cannabis agriculture.
The second reason is that Cannabis is the only crop to provide complete nutrition and sustainable biofuels from the same harvest. This means that food security and nutrition is improved at the same time that bioenergy is sustainably, organically produced.
The third reason to regard hemp has to do with the climate change mitigation potential of atmospheric aerosols produced by Cannabis; and an extraordinary carbon sequestration potential of 9 tons per acre, per growing season.

What kind of activity do you propose to address this issue?

Every available means for assessing the true value of Cannabis agriculture, manufacture and trade, in addressing food security, nutrition and climate change, must be implemented immediately, before the time "window of opportunity" described in the UN's IPCC report closes on our ability to have an effect.

Which kind of CFS workstream should be put in place to address it?

a. A major workstream

A global emergency preparedness protocol, equivalent to "essential civilian demand" mentioned in EO 13603 and CFR 44.

Cannabis is critically important for rebalancing Earth's atmosphere and for globally redistributing essential food and energy resources.

The antibiotic and insecticidal properties of the Cannabis plant are also of tremendous importance in treatment & prevention of disease, for phytoremediating contaminated soils and for purifying water.

On April 20th, 2014

"Cannabis vs. Climate Change"

will be introduced from 4pm to 8pm at the

John Van Duzer Theater, located on the Humboldt

State University campus

in Arcata, California.

Cannabis agriculture is critical to mankind's continued existence on this planet. The sooner we realize how vital hemp is to rebalancing Earth's atmosphere, the better will be our chances for healing our environment and ourselves.

"Cannabis vs. Climate Change": Ultimately good news of something we can do.

Though it’s rise has been measured by land-based monitoring equipment, and the levels of UV-B radiation penetrating Earth's atmosphere from the Sun are acknowledged to have increased, elevated UV-B reaching the surface of the planet are vastly under-regarded by too few scientists and farmers. "Global Broiling" describes intensifying UV-B radiation, diligently monitored, though roundly ignored by entrenched international leadership.

Monoterpenes: Molecule for the 21st Century

In April 2006 a major global revelation was quietly reported in The Guardian newspaper. Climate scientists studying fragrant, aerosol “monoterpenes” produced by the boreal forests, revealed that biogenic, stratospheric aerosols have historically served to refract sunlight. Phytoplankton at the base of the food chain in Earth's oceans and estuaries, also exude monoterpenes.

Monoterpenes shield our planet from deadly UV-B wavelengths of light in two ways. Suspended in the stratosphere like liquid crystals in the sky, they refract UV-B away from the surface of the Earth. Monoterpenes also serve to nucleate bright and persistent clouds, further protecting the planet from the Sun.

Falling from the sky in monoterpene-enhanced showers, it seems logical to reason that the antibiotic, anti-fungal, anti-viral, anti-bacterial, anti-oxidizing and anti-carcinogenic properties of monoterpenes also serve the systemic health of the planet and the creatures upon it, by purifying the water.

It is alarming to consider that half of the boreal forests and phytoplankton had already died before scientific awareness of the protection afforded by them was discovered. Combining the effects from ozone depletion and reduced monoterpene levels, It is not surprising to learn that the intensity and incidence of extreme solar UV-B radiation has increased.

Of enormous consequence, increased UV-B is increasing the solubility of aqueous mercury, arsenic, and selenium compounds. "Enhanced" UV-B also causes genetic mutation; suppressed immune response; indicator species extinction; exacerbates warming, disables the organisms that sequester carbon produce oxygen and terpenes; influence extreme weather; hotter forest fires; reduce soil moisture; impose epidemic malnutrition; and reduce harvests in the majority of the world's food crops.

Hemp is uniquely capable of expanding the arable base with a non-invasive pioneer crop, as it repairs the atmosphere, the air, water and soil. Soil conditioning and phytoremediation properties of hemp make it an indispensable tool of organic agriculture.

The volume of aerosol monoterpenes needed to repair our solar shield is enormous. Cannabis is the only crop capable of producing the volume of terpenes needed in the time we may have left to make a difference. Cannabis is also the only crop capable of producing complete nutrition and sustainable biofuels from the same harvest.

Stratospheric aerosol monoterpenes and isoprenes can be reasoned to play a key role in purification of the hydrologic cycle. Biogenic, non-toxic pest control and anti-oxidant properties make Cannabis essential oils immeasurably valuable to the detoxification of our environment.
