Why Cannabis can never be truly illegal.

Unique and essential natural resources have never been within the rightful jurisdiction of the court. This law [to tax medical marijuana] would concede rightful jurisdiction. Better to end the income tax, tax the hell out of non-essential commodities and save a bundle by eliminating a dysfunctional bureaucracy.

The world’s most ancient, nutritious, useful, safely therapeutic, potentially abundant, globally available, agronomically and ecologically beneficial organic crop, Cannabis was federally recognized as a “strategic food resource” in Executive Order 12919 signed by President Clinton in 1994. When realistically assessed without prejudice, Cannabis agriculture, manufacture, trade and consumption could in fact prove critical to sustainable human existence.

The contradiction inherent in a strategic resource being concurrently classified a Schedule I drug erodes the credibility of government and threatens national security. Since political corruption is one of the known, predictable outcomes of prohibition, it is important to recognize that there must be a point at which corrupted governance reveals extreme dysfunction that ceases to command respect.

Prolonged prohibition of Cannabis agriculture has resulted in systemic imbalance, effecting the integrity of the Earth’s environment, global economics, human health and social evolution. To resolve compounded crises threatening humankind with extinction in the 21st Century, the true value of Cannabis agriculture must be thoroughly and accurately reassessed as soon as possible.

Because it produces the only common seed containing three essential fatty acids (EFAs), Cannabis is nutritionally unique and essential. Cannabis seed is also the best available source of organic vegetable protein, with nutritionally significant amounts of all the essential amino acids. Inducing scarcity of essential resources extends the jurisdiction of law beyond the moral accountability of government and is the on-going cause of global food insecurity and epidemic malnutrition. Until food insecurity and malnutrition are recognized as endemic to current drug policy, there will be no chance for resolving any of these issues.

Essential for normal physical and mental development in infants and young children, EFAs are recognized as critically important for optimum health, from conception until death. Because of the misguided social prejudice against ‘marijuana,’ resulting from seven decades of “drug war” propaganda, the vast majority of people on Earth are tragically unaware of the enormous significance of Cannabis seed nutrition.

Cannabis agriculture and manufacture may also be a key elements in the most available and proportionate global strategy for mitigating climate change. Particular urgency exists for examining the potential of Cannabis agriculture for production of biogenic volatile organic compounds (BVOCs) called “monoterpenes,” to effect radiative forcing.

Cannabis is extraordinary in producing 58 monoterpenes that reflect solar radiation away from the planet and seed cloud formation. Cannabis agriculture has unique potential for reducing both global warming and increasing UV-B radiation. “Global broiling” by UV-B has been implicated in genetic mutation, immune system suppression, and stunted growth in amphibians and other indicator species.

Cannabis is additionally remarkable in being the only globally adaptable crop that produces both food and fuel from the same harvest. This makes hemp a critical resource for ending mankind’s addiction to fossil fuels without adversely impacting food security.

Expansion of the arable base using hemp as a pioneer crop could significantly increase the carbon sequestration capacity of agricultural lands, decrease chemical contamination of air, water and soils and increase the mitigation potential of the world’s most beneficial rotational crop.

An accurate review of Cannabis will establish that the human right to farm essential agricultural resources is protected by several Constitutional Amendments, including the First Amendment in the Bill of Rights. Because all herbs are God-given, the freedom to farm “every herb bearing seed” is the first test of religious freedom.

Dear President Obama and Attorney General Holder,

Having honestly acknowledged "frequent" 'marijuana' use, I would like to thank President Obama for adding a much needed, Presidential scenario to the drug war dinosaurs' "gateway drug" theory. As you prove by your intelligence, character, family values and exceptional achievement, the use of 'marijuana' is not harmful if taken responsibly, with respect. The prohibition of Cannabis is a blatantly criminal, destabilizing and immoral disease being inflicted on our society by the martial bureaucracy.

How can you allow the DEA to persist in imposing essential resource scarcity on America, by banning a federally recognized "strategic" food crop, in the name of eradicating an "herb bearing seed?" As if violating our Constitutional "First Freedom" wasn't illegal enough, the DEA is attacking medical marijuana patients, particularly if they have salable land and possessions.

During last year's historic campaign, Senator Obama promised that as President he would stop the DEA's raids on medical marijuana clinics in states that have laws protecting them. But already under the new administration such raids have happened twice.

Taking an effective herbal therapeutic away from someone in pain is no different than torturing someone who is otherwise well.
What about our right to grow industrial hemp and prevent illness through proper nutrition? Will your administration have the minimal integrity of reconciling the insanity of a "strategic food resource" being misvalued as a Schedule I drug?

Administration spokesperson Nick Shapiro indicated in the February 5 issue of the Washington Times that President Obama's position is unchanged: "The president believes that federal resources should not be used to circumvent state laws, and as he continues to appoint senior leadership to fill out the ranks of the federal government, he expects them to review their policies with that in mind."

While those certainly are encouraging words, I urge President Obama and Attorney General Holder to take action to stop the medical marijuana raids now. Patients and the people who serve them are suffering and being subjected to injustice on your watch, and the legacy of an animalistic administration persists.

Human rights are being violated internationally in a failed global drug war, based on the failed U.S. model. Currently happening with Chakib El-Khayari, who has been held in custody of the National Bureau of the Judicial Police of Casablanca since February 17th, in Morocco.

Please recognize the opportunity in contacting His Majesty King Mohammed VI to secure Mr. El-Khayari's health, safety and immediate release.

A call to the King of Morroco to express concern with the fate of Chakib Al Khayari would establish your administration as one of global compassion. Please see

http://www.encod.org/info/LETTER-TO-THE-KING-OF-MOROCCO-ON.html

I trust that conditions on Earth will soon be bad enough for all solutions to be considered. If I can help with a smooth transition to a normal relationship with Cannabis, please let me know. Time is the limiting factor in the equation of survival. Every Spring planting season that passes is gone forever. Please don't wait to do what must be done. End Cannabis prohibition now.

Recognize Cannabis agriculture, manufacture and trade as unique and essential, or life on this planet will soon be burned away by UV-B radiation. Cannabis produces 58 monoterpenes, that reflect solar radiation and seed cloud formation. Biogenic volatile organic compounds (BVOCs) dissipate so must be constantly released into the atmosphere as carbon is sequestered.

Thank you for considering my views.

When industrial hemp prohibition ends in the United States...

When industrial hemp prohibition ends in the United States, the end of drug war domination everywhere will have begun. Prohibition of competition from the American hemp industry by the chemical economy in the U.S. keeps the drug war in place by institutionalizing artificial values on behalf of a toxic economy. Warped institutional values eventually lead to the collapse of environment, economics and social structures that we're presently witnessing.

The madness must stop for sanity to set in

A formal revaluation of Cannabis agriculture, manufacture and trade will achieve resolution of several destabilizing contradictions, that are currently accepted. For example, it is only by disregarding the exceptional nutritional value of Cannabis seed, that Cannabis remains classified as a Schedule I drug with no accepted value. Identified as a "strategic resource" in Executive Order 12919 (Clinton 1994), Cannabis cannot possibly be both critical to national security and at the same time without beneficial uses.

That the United Nations Food & Agriculture Organization refuses to recognize the true value of hemp seed nutrition as unique and essential, is the crime of two Centuries.

In March 2009, the UN will meet in Vienna to review ten years of failed drug policy. Please do what you can to let UNFAO know that they are criminally negligent in failing to make the connection between their counter-productive & costly drug policy and the causal effect it's having on global food insecurity and epidemic malnutrition.

Cannabis prohibition will end as soon as the true value of Cannabis agriculture, manufacture & trade are acknowledged.

"What Michael Phelps should have said"

The following was sent by friends in Holland...

"What Michael Phelps should have said"
========================

Dear America,

I take it back. I don’t apologize.
Because you know what? It’s none of your goddamned business. I work my ass off 10 months a year. It’s that hard work that gave you all those gooey feelings of patriotism last summer. If during my brief window of down time I want to relax, enjoy myself, and partake of a substance that’s a hell of a lot less bad for me than alcohol, tobacco, or, frankly, most of the prescription drugs most of you are taking, well, you can spare me the lecture.

I put myself through hell. I make my body do things nature never really intended us to endure. All world-class athletes do. We do it because you love to watch us push ourselves as far as we can possibly go. Some of us get hurt. Sometimes permanently. You’re watching the Super Bowl tonight. You’re watching 300 pound men smash each other while running at full speed, in full pads. You know what the average life expectancy of an NFL player is? Fifty-five. That’s about 20 years shorter than your average non-NFL player. Yet you watch. And cheer. And you jump up spill your beer when a linebacker lays out a wide receiver on a crossing route across the middle. The harder he gets hit, the louder and more enthusiastically you scream.

Yet you all get bent out of shape when Ricky Williams, or I, or Josh Howard smoke a little dope to relax. Why? Because the idiots you’ve elected to make your laws have, without a shred of evidence, beat it into your head that smoking marijuana is something akin to drinking antifreeze, and done only by dirty hippies and sex offenders.

You’ll have to pardon my cynicism. But I call bullshit. You don’t give a damn about my health. You just get a voyeuristic thrill from watching an elite athlete fall from grace–all the better if you get to exercise a little moral righteousness in the process. And it’s hypocritical righteousness at that, given that 40 percent of you have tried pot at least once in your lives.

Here’s a crazy thought: If I can smoke a little dope and go on to win 14 Olympic gold medals, maybe pot smokersaren’t doomed to lives of couch surfing and video games, as our moronic government would have us believe. In fact, the list of successful pot smokers includes not just world class athletes like me, Howard, Williams, and others, it includes Nobel Prize winners, Pulitzer Prize winners, the last three U.S. presidents, several Supreme Court justices, and luminaries and success stories from all sectors of business and the arts, sciences, and humanities.

So go ahead. Ban me from the next Olympics. Yank my endorsement deals. Stick your collective noses in the air and get all indignant on me. While you’re at it, keep arresting cancer and AIDS patients who dare to smoke the stuff because it deadens their pain, or enables them to eat. Keep sending in goon squads to kick down doors and shoot little old ladies, maim innocent toddlers, handcuff elderly post-polio patients to their beds at gunpoint, and slaughter the family pet.

Tell you what. I’ll make you a deal. I’ll apologize for smoking pot when every politician who ever did drugs and then voted to uphold or strengthen the drug laws marches his ass off to the nearest federal prison to serve out the sentence he wants to impose on everyone else for committing the same crimes he committed. I’ll apologize when the sons, daughters, and nephews of powerful politicians who get caught possessing or dealing drugs in the frat house or prep school get the same treatment as the no-name, probably black kid caught on the corner or the front stoop doing the same thing.

Until then, I for one will have none of it. I smoked pot. I liked it. I’ll probably do it again. I refuse to apologize for it, because by apologizing I help perpetuate this stupid lie, this idea that what someone puts into his own body on his own time is any of the government’s damned business. Or any of yours. I’m not going to bend over and allow myself to be propaganda for this wasteful, ridiculous, immoral war.
Go ahead and tear me down if you like. But let’s see you rationalize how the greatest motherfucking swimmer the world has ever seen...is also a proud pot smoker.

Yours,

Michael Phelps

Cops say legalize drugs

Recent reports of 'marijuana' arrests in Siskiyou County have consistently overlooked the known, permanent, long-term harms that the "war on [some] drugs" is doing to our communities and the environment. For all of the time & money wasted, human rights violated, lives ruined and trust destroyed, it is indisputable that prohibition is always counter-productive, causing innumerable harms to individuals, the environment, the economy.

Find Law Enforcement Against Prohibition (L.E.A.P.) at http://www.leap.cc/cms/index.php to learn what experienced police officers, judges and prosecutors are saying:

"LEAP is made up of current and former members of law enforcement who believe the existing drug policies have failed in their intended goals of addressing the problems of crime, drug abuse, addiction, juvenile drug use, stopping the flow of illegal drugs into this country and the internal sale and use of illegal drugs.

"A system of regulation and control of these substances (by the government, replacing the current system of control by the black market) would be a less harmful, less costly, more ethical and more effective public policy."

In June 2007 the U.S. Conference of Mayors passed a resolution stating, "the war on drugs has failed," calling for "a public health approach that concentrates more fully on reducing the negative consequences associated with drug abuse, while ensuring that our policies do not exacerbate these problems or create new social problems of their own."

Wouldn't it be more effective to teach individual responsibility? Building trust and community integrity in an atmosphere of responsible marijuana use, less hard drug use, more compassion and greater tolerance? This has been the case in Holland, where teen use of all drugs is a fraction of what it is in the U.S.. The best that can be done is to be honest and well informed about the relative risks of using various substances, including marijuana, alcohol, tobacco and chemical drugs.

Until that happens, jury nullification of non-violent marijuana crimes is the best way to heal the wound that's been inflicted on this community. It only takes one juror to say "not guilty" and a harmful law can be nullified. If that's what it takes to stop the "drug war" madness, then all people in this county who serve on a 'marijuana' trial jury are reminded that jury nullification is the anchor of American freedom.

On average, once a month, another police officer dies fighting an winnable war, enforcing hypocritical laws that cost billions, while doing much more harm than good. To continue a costly, pointless drug policy is a symptom of corruption and madness.

For people to pretend it doesn't exist won't make it go away. A Town Hall Meeting is needed to address community questions and concerns, then move forward to Cannabis agricultural abundance this spring. We don't have another planting season to waste. It may well already be too late to recover, but if we don't start now, then it may soon not matter what anyone does.

If someone has a better strategy for producing energy, food, building materials, herbal therapeutics, paper, cloth, pesticides and biodegradable plastics; while regenerating demineralized soils, stopping soil erosion, detoxifying contaminated soils, and producing monoterpenes to reflect UV-B radiation and seed clouds to mitigate climate change, then say so. If not, then just let organic agriculture and the free market economy work without government interference for the first time in our lives.

Individual choice is key to evolution of sustainable human values. By reclaiming the freedom to farm, the first test of religious freedom, we may yet have a chance to avoid the extinction we're presently headed for.

Why President Obama has to end Cannabis prohibition and how he can do it.

President Obama has to end prohibition because to do otherwise would reveal him as more than just another "drug war" hypocrite infecting our government. It would be criminally negligent for a President who has used marijuana "frequently" (and I presume would employ again if medical necessity required it), to ignore the known harms of Cannabis prohibition that he certainly must be aware of :

31 Harms of Cannabis Prohibition

1. Induces essential resource scarcity and inefficiency, by limiting the regional, sustainable production and dependable availability of several bio-fuels, including cellulosic hydrogen and ethanol, pyrolytic charcoal, diesel seed oil, methane gas, and compost heat.

2. Induces essential resource scarcity by limiting the production and availability of an unique and essential food. It is the only common seed with three essential fatty acids, in proper relative proportion, and the best available source of organic vegetable protein, critically important vitamins, minerals and nutritionally significant amounts of all the essential amino acids.

3. Induces essential resource scarcity by limiting the production and availability of affordable, recyclable and biodegradable building materials for humans.

4. Reduces the carrying capacity of wildlife habitat by reducing the availability of essential food and cover.

5. Institutionalizes a black market economy in god-given herbs by misidentifying them as "drugs."

6. Corrupts governments, locally and globally.

7. Creates radical resource disparity, that inevitably leads to wars over energy, water and other essential natural resources.

8. Creates an economic vacuum that has addicted and corrupted our economic system to be dependent on toxic, unevenly distributed, finite resources.

9. Degrades the environment on regional and global levels. "Global Broiling" by increasing UV-B radiation is perhaps the least discussed example of "extinctionistic" effects that mankind's addiction to chemicals is already having.

10. Engenders poverty, illness and violence, where abundance, health and peace could otherwise exist.

11. Causes epidemic malnutrition.

12. Threatens everyone's health by inducing essential food scarcity, which obviates optimum human development and potential.

13. Perverts human social evolution toward synergistic collapse of environment, economics, and social structures.

14. Largely responsible for the rise of GMOs, having created protein shortages.

15. Economically and politically empowers the least conscious

16. Disrespects and interferes with science

17. Institutionalizes disrespect for Nature

18. Inhibits free individual spiritual evolution

19. Robs us of our Natural Rights, upon which our government was founded.

20. Robs other creatures, with whom we share this planet, of an unique and essential food and
shelter resource.

21. Creates conditions of acceptance for government misinformation, destroying the credibility of government.

22 Accelerates the spread of HIV/AIDS between infected mothers and nursing infants.

23. Creates a "forbidden fruit" which makes adolescent experimentation with 'marijuana' and other psychoactive substances more likely.

24. Makes the wild places into war zones, driving illegal growers further and further back into remote
wilderness areas.

25. Interferes with regeneration of damaged lands, and expansion of the global arable base.

26. Cripples organic agriculture by banning safe, potentially abundant biogenic pesticides and effective, rotational crop management.

27. Violates respect for previous generations who sacrificed so much for the freedoms we are losing in the name of the counter-productive, hypocritical, selective and expensive "drug war."

28. Results, on average, in the pointless death of one police officer per month, who waste their lives enforcing
anti-Constitutional laws that are counter-productive to their own stated objectives.

29. Constricts the global agricultural production of atmospheric aerosols called "monoterpenes" which have been shown to reflect solar radiation away from the planet, and seed cloud formation to protect the Earth from "global broiling" by increasing UV-B radiation.

30. Inhibits the use of a safe and effective herbal therapeutic by people who are intimidated by misinformation and violence that characterize 'marijuana' prohibition.

31. Destroys families through insidious, criminalization, secrecy and mistrust.

All the President has to do to end Cannabis prohibition is to recognize the legitimate need for this "strategic resource" (E.O.12919) and acknowledge the public's right of "essential civilian demand" for an unique and essential crop, being exercised by the California Cannabis Ministry in 2009.

"Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed...and every green herb."

Drugs don't make seeds, herbs do.
Freedom to farm is the first test of religious freedom.
Time is the limiting factor in the equation of survival.
We don't have another planting season to waste.
Please help to end prohibition by essential civilian demand in 2009.
